What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “Self-care means knowing my body's limitations and making accommodations so I don't hurt myself. I believe in the power of leading short stretch sessions with my crew members and practicing dynamic movements while working in the fields as part of our farm culture. I also believe that self-care is stopping for a lunch break to eat a nourishing meal made with the food that we are working so hard to grow.”
How I might use this $100 self-care award: “I will buy credits at the Iowa Recovery Room to use their dry sauna and cold bath for rejuvenation and the myriads of health benefits from these practices.”
Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: “One of the most important self-care needs as a farmer is regular stretching and chiropractic care.”
