Jen writes, “Star Light Gardens is a love story written by Ty and David Zemelsky 21 years ago in the fields of historic Durham, CT. It started with salad greens - lots of them! - but with the ebbs and flows of life, Star Light Gardens has evolved. Now a new generation of lovers and farmers, Jen and Joel Smith, help David manage our tiny paradise. Since day one being a part of Star Light Gardens has felt like home. This year is Joel's 7th season and Jen's 3rd at Star Light, and we are honored and privileged to be part of the family. What Ty and David have created here is a beautiful and impactful dream. Today we are widely diversified, growing many varieties of vegetables, fruits, and flowers cultivating all the colors of the rainbow. While many things have changed, our mission has remained the same: to bring food truth to all those seeking it, by making organic produce available to them 12 months of the year.
