Our 38th @realfarmercare recipient - Isabel Arrieche, farm manager at The Mahwah Environmental Volunteers Organization (MEVO) @mevoearth in Mahwah, NJ.
@violetreed writes, “MEVO is a youth led and founded environmental not-for-profit. We work hard to create community based environmental projects, like our Fresh Roots Farm Program where we operate two community market gardens, Fresh Roots Farm, and Lovewell Farm. At these farms we welcome in thousands of volunteers every year and train interns to help us build out, plant, and maintain our farms as well as to learn the immense power in small scale, local agriculture. Our Farm Manager, Isabel Arrieche, has grown this program with our other staff from the ground up. As a young grower, she has learned literally on the fly and has brought our farms to the forefront of our programming, and to the heart of our community. She grows with intense love, passion, and tenacity and those traits are largely what bring people back week after week to take part in our farming movement.” #realfarmercare#mevoearth
