The 342nd recipient is Anne Weber of Farmhouse Organics @farmhouseorganics in Poulsbo, WA, Anne writes:

What self-care and well-being mean to me as a farmer: “Time away from farm work spent doing something enjoyable.”

How I might use this $100 self-care award: “I would give this award to my two children, Wyatt and Talia. I would not have been able to keep my small organic farm running without their help during the past 5 years. I would like them to receive this award to acknowledge the dedication, commitment and truly hard work that they have done to help me manage our small family farm.”

Most important self-care needs that contribute to my well-being as a farmer: “Honestly, I haven’t done much self care in my 33 years of farming. I had a horrible divorce and since then I haven’t stopped working and I haven’t taken a vacation. I didn’t think my life could get worse but then my parents died within a year of each other. After my mom passed away suddenly last year, my dad moved in with my kids and I, and he received hospice care for 8 months until he passed away in January. My kids and I continued farming throughout and it was extremely difficult for us.”
